Organisation

Hi everyone!

Today's topic is organisation, something I couldn't live without! There is a lot of overlap on the below points I'm about to go through and this emphasises just how much one change has a snowball effect on so many other things.

Also, let's just take a moment to appreciate my 'things to do today' planner! It's from Home Bargains if anyone needs a good but affordable planner!

BENEFITS OF BEING ORGANISED!

  1. Decrease stress - If you've got lots to do and can't remember it all, write it down & set allocated time to do them and deadlines. If you feel like you're too busy to fit everything in, make a schedule and prioritise what you do and when. This could be anything like work tasks, meeting friends for coffee catch ups, workouts, cooking, taking some time for you #selfcare. If it's written down and planned, it wont be in your head and you wont need to worry about forgetting it.

  2. Improve sleep - Sleep effects your overall health so much and is largely effected when you're stressed and unorganised. I can't be the only one who's brain goes into overthinking mode late at night can I? I get all relaxed and ready for bed and then all the things I need to do will enter my head & I'll worry about not remembering them. If I write them down I can forget about it until the next day without worrying that it won't get done on time. Also you crave more unhealthy foods when you're sleep deprived, it's a win win really!

  3. Increase productivity - Again, overlap with sleep. The better quality sleep you get, the more energy you'll have the next day and the more productive you'll be. Also, if there's a list next to me all day, it'll keep me on track and stop me forgetting anything, therefore increasing productivity levels.

  4. Accountability - This works for me with my workouts as well as my day to day tasks. If I make a rough plan and keep it in my head it's so much easier to say to myself "I'll do that tomorrow" or "I'll do the harder workout tomorrow" (which never ends up happening!). That's why I love my workout plan, lists & schedules so much. I'm flexible with them if I have to be however I won't make up silly excuses to myself to not do things.

  5. Consistency - BUILD HEALTHY AND MAINTAINABLE HABITS. The more consistent you are with planning, list making and being organised in general, the more you'll do it out of habit. Before you know it you'll forget how you every lived without it! I've covered consistency a little more over on Instagram so head there if you fancy reading a little more about it).

  6. Time - whether it's more time for exercise, family time or self care time make sure you get it! Plan to get your work done by a certain time so you can enjoy a family dinner without worrying or feeling guiltily for falling short on your todo list. #selfcare is just as important as work, make time for it! "Give people the BEST of you not the REST of you!"

  7. Improve health & fitness - organise your meals so you know what you're eating each day rather than getting in a just having a quick, last minute, not so nutritious dinner. If you're more organised with your time you'll be able to schedule a workout or a daily walk in instead of working late and not having the time or energy to.

  8. Increase motivation - everyone knows that feeling of satisfaction when you tick things off your to do list & on time as well! Who wouldn't want that all the time! That feeling is motivation enough to keep organised and on schedule (and to avoid the stress and worry of forgetting and missing deadlines!).

  9. Gain control - whether its at work, your personal life, your health and fitness journey, anything! If you get organised and remain consistent, you have the power to change any aspect of your life that you wish!

  10. Increase energy levels and mood - more sleep, less stress and worry, more satisfaction, more control, I could go on. All of these things and more will have an automatic effect on your energy levels and mood.

BUILD MAINTAINABLE HABITS

I hope you found that somewhat useful & that it'll convert you to a list lover ;) Trust me you won't turn back!
