It’s so important to make time for self care.
WHY?
I often find myself getting caught up in busy day to day life but for both physical and mental health it’s important to take some time out on a regular basis and do something, even something small, for you.
After a busy week, on Friday evening I felt tbe need to spend a couple of hours doing this. I disconnected from my phone and took some time to slow down and just chill out after a busy week.
WHAT is self care?
Spending time away from your daily tasks & stresses to do something you enjoy and focus solely on that. When I do this I like to turn my phone off so that I’m not tempted to check my messages or have a scroll through Instagram. As much as social media is great it’s good to take time away from it every now and again to reconnect with the non digital world.
Some of my favourite things to do are:
• A face mask: I look after my skin through my nutrition & water intake mostly however every now and again it’s nice to treat my skin to something extra (I’ve been loving the Clarins Moisturising mask & the L’Oréal charchol Mask)
• Making a list of personal goals for the week
• Catching up on some TV/ watch a film
• Stretching / Yoga / Pilates
• Time away from my phone
• Journalling
• Going for a walk
• Reading a book (Sarah Knight & James Smith are my go to at the moment for lifestyle books)
